Sciame is chief executive of New York-based F.J. Sciame Construction Company, Inc., whose projects include the Guggenheim Museum, the Morgan Library & Museum, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and the New York Public Library. The Sciames purchased the Hepburn property in 2004 and performed a full renovation creating a modern open and airy, light-filled floor plan while preserving the home’s historic integrity.
The compound includes the 8,300-square- foot Hepburn estate home, a 2,750-square-foot gate house residence currently being built, a pond, a private boat dock, and an additional deeded lot with its own sandy beach for which the Sciames are pursuing a permit to build a third home (a 2,300-square-foot guest house). The property was originally listed for sale in June 2011 for $28 million. With the improvements, the compound is now being offered at $30 million.
